The round table discussion was attended by Jahongir Valijonovich Meliqoziyev, a responsible employee of the Committee for Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Abdufattohov Momin Mirzo Murodjon oglu, a senior lecturer at the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan.

At the beginning of the event, it was announced that the preservation and development of national values, the widespread promotion of the rich national cultural heritage of the Uzbek people, as well as the improvement of the cultural level, and the strengthening of the place of our national traditions in our lives are the civic duty of every employee.

In this regard, it was noted that, in accordance with the order of the director of the Davaktiv agency, every Friday of the week is designated as “National Clothing Day” in the system, and based on this initiative, it is appropriate for employees of the system to set a personal example by wearing clothing that promotes nationalism at their workplaces.

The speakers recalled that the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan states that Uzbekistan is a sovereign, democratic, legal, social and secular state with a republican form of government, that no ideology can be established as a state ideology, which is significant in that it is aimed at effectively ensuring freedom of conscience, the rule of law and social justice in society, human rights, freedoms and interests.

The work being carried out in our country to ensure religious tolerance, and the rights and obligations of a civil servant in this regard, with appropriate explanations, religious tolerance is considered a guarantee of interethnic harmony. It is precisely in this direction that positive work is being carried out in our country and is specifically regulated by legislative acts, as a result of which favorable conditions have been created for representatives of 16 existing religions to live and practice their faith freely.

At the same time, information was provided that, in accordance with legislative documents, it is not allowed to force a citizen in one way or another to believe in a religion or not, to participate in prayers, religious ceremonies and rituals or not, to receive religious education.

At the end of the event, a question-and-answer session was held between the participants and employees, and it was acknowledged that the ideas and comments expressed by the speakers were positively received by the participants.
