Our Native Language, Our Heritage: Book Exhibition and Online Meeting with a Poet Held at the Regional Department

The Syrdarya Regional Territorial Department of the State Assets Management Agency held cultural and educational events dedicated to October 21 – Uzbek Language Day.

On October 21, 1989, the Uzbek language was granted the status of the state language. This date is regarded in our nation’s history as an important milestone in the recognition of national identity and the restoration of the value of the native language. Every year, this day is widely celebrated across the country.

To mark the occasion, a book exhibition was organized at the department with the participation of its staff. The exhibition featured works of classical and contemporary Uzbek literature, poetry collections, linguistics publications, and books on spiritual and moral topics. Staff members explored the exhibition and exchanged views on reading culture, the richness of the native language, and the importance of preserving it.

On the same day, an online event was held via Zoom together with the State Assets Management Agency. It was attended by Agency staff, representatives of regional departments, and the renowned poet Bobur Bobomurod. Participants discussed the role of the Uzbek language in society, improving record-keeping in the state language, and fostering a stronger reading culture among young people. The poet held a warm conversation with the participants, speaking about the beauty of the native language and the power of the literary word.

The events helped further strengthen the participants’ love for their native language and respect for national values.
